Getting to Lafayette (and the hotel)

If you are flying...

The best airport to fly into is Indianapolis International Airport (IND). You can also fly into Chicaco O'Hare (ORD), however, Chicago traffic tends to be frustrating most of the time. While fares might be a bit higher if you fly into Indianapolis (this probably depends on where you are coming from), finding your way to Lafayette is much easier! The drive is also more than an hour shorter.

If you are driving...

From the north: Take I-65 South to exit 178 for IN-43 toward Brookston/W. Lafayette. Turn right onto IN-43 S/N River Road. Turn left onto IN-26 E/E State St and continue across the bridge spanning the Wabash River. The Holiday Inn City Centre will be on your right just past 5th Street.

From the south: Take I-65 North to exit 178 for IN-26 toward Lafayette/Rossville. Turn left onto IN-26 W. Continue on IN-26 W (also called South Street), turning slight right onto Main St, where IN-26 becomes one-way. Continue onto Columbia St. Turn left onto 5th Street, then left again onto South St. The hotel will be on the right.

From the east: Take IN-26 W into Lafayette. Continue on IN-26 W, turning slight right onto Main St, where IN-26 becomes one-way. Continue onto Columbia St. Turn left onto 5th Street, then left again onto South Street and the hotel will be on the right.

From the west: Take IN-26 E into Lafayette. After crossing the Wabash River, the hotel will be on the right just past 5th Street.

Things to do around town...

Visit the Lafayette-West Lafayette Convention and Visitor's Bureau website for information about area attractions, restuarants, and other fun things to do while you are in town. In particular, the weekend of September 22-23 is the 45th annual Feast of the Hunter's Moon, a festival commemorating annual fall gatherings of the French and Native Americans at Fort Ouiatenon, a fur-trading outpost in the mid-1700s. Check it out if you have time!
