Thank goodness for friends of friends. Josh met Ben M through their mutual friend, Autumn O. Karla met Ben M through their mutual friend, Josh C (this is going to get confusing!). Autumn and Josh C invited Josh F and Karla, respectively, to Ben's (and, to some degree Josh C's - they were roommates at the time) graduation bonfire party. It was during this fateful night that we, Karla and Josh F, met. The rest, as they say, is history. Well, there's the bit about Josh asking Karla to dinner and Karla subsequently moving away...But in all seriousness, we are truly grateful for the friends we have that led us, however indirectly, to each other.
Author of xkcd, for his ever amusing comic. He doesn't know us, but we love his work. Some of our other favorites:
Our invaluable coordinator, for all her hard work finding and coordinating with our vendors. We'd be pretty lost (and totally stressed) without her help.
Our amazing photographer - her website can be found here. Check out pictures from the wedding in this online gallery provided by Jes! You can order prints and packages through her website by clicking on the "buy" button on the right side of the page. Make sure to get your orders in by March 2013!
The most kickin' DJ around. He can spin tunes like nobody's business.
Our beautiful, talented sister/sister-in-law. She designed our awesome wedding invitations with nothing to go on except colors and the fact that we're both somewhat nerdy computer-y people. Kudos also to Martin (her husband) for his valuable input and manual labor (we assume) in the pre-folding of all the invitations. Curious about the images? On the invitation, there are 4 instances of binary and one ASCII image, and on the RSVP card there is one instance of binary and one ASCII image.
Our lovely flowers were provided by Rubia Flower Market, a wholesale vendor in West Lafayette near Wabash Landing.
The cakes were made by Baker's Peak in West Lafayette. They were wonderful and easy to work with...and their cake was super yummy! If you're still wondering about the cake with dinosaurs, it was in fact a "Happy Birthday!" cake - in honor of the groom's birthday!
Speaking of those dinosaurs...my wonderfully talented former-labmate/roommate and now current co-worker Gayatri A made (from scratch!) the awesome bride and groom outfits for our velociraptors. She's lethal with a glue-gun!
